United Restaurant Supplies originated in 1947. In 1975, the company was purchased by Bill Calvert. At that time the company had only one warehouse employee, three office staffers, three sales reps, and two trucks in operation. In 2012, United Restaurant Supplies joined forces with GFS Canada and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Gordon Food Service. Today, United serves almost all of Ontario and ships to customers throughout Canada.
