On Tuesday September 15th, R.I.B.A. once again held its annual event in Niagara Falls. Some would call it a golf event, but I would like to refer to it as an “opportunity” for our members to mingle with various manufacturers, distributors and of course our team. This year’s sold out event proved to be one of our best, according to comments I’ve received from attendees, as we included supplier sampling and contests on various holes.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone who participated and shared in the festivities. The DoubleTree Niagara proved to be a stellar property to host not only our guest accommodations, but also for the banquet. Our menu consisted of salad, a nicely prepared veal chop with vegetables/potatoes and of course, Sara Lee dessert. Kudos to the DoubleTree for doing an excellent job! Golfers had a gorgeous day to take on the forgiving, yet picturesque Thundering Waters Golf Course. With the exception of one miscalculated turn, which resulted in a tow truck having to be called and a near miss with disaster for the driver and occupant, the event went off without a hitch.In recognition of the importance of our members and how the manufacturers, distributors and R.I.B.A. value their participation within the program, an additional three thousand in prize dollars were drawn for their benefit, in addition to the regular prize table. The grand prizes were two one thousand dollar draws, as well as two five hundred dollar draws. The prize table included a fifty five inch LG T.V., a forty nine inch LG T.V., numerous tablets, coffee machines, donated gifts from Mercedes Benz, Ecolab, a kitchen cookware set from Canadian Linen etc.
During the day, there was also a 50/50 draw, which saw two participants split approximately three hundred dollars each, as well as drive the new Corvette or Escalade golf cart for the round. R.I.B.A.'s gifts included golfer’s choice of premiere sunglasses, plus the newly designed high end golf cap with our updated logo. Olymel products were available for sampling and lunch, as well as Waterloo Breweries beverages, Pepsi, Sara Lee and Arytza products on the course. Canada Bread supplied prizes for closest to the pin and hole in one prizes were supplied by SelectPath.
